Acqua Minerale Calizzano
Why is our water so special?
Just in that green Ligurian hinterland, where the Apennines end and the Maritime Alps start, Calizzano has first assembled and then spread out in a large flat area protected by the tall mountain peaks.
The landscape is still somewhat Ligurian and already a little Piedmontese. The sea is not far away, but the benevolent aspects of nature anticipate the colours and the quietness of the great Alpine forests, with the waters running in the prairies and the whole rural richness of the Po plain.
The fresh mountain air, at a height just above six hundred meters, is filtered by the taut crowns of the beechwoods, of the fir woods and of the chestnut groves and all the wood resources still indicate the remote vocations of the hard-working communities, busy with the handmade works and the cultivation of the land.
The Millesimo arm of the Bormida River crosses the territory, as in a fertile valley floor, and draws its winding course collecting the waters of brooks and torrents, to descend quietly towards the Tanaro River.
In this charming valley basin, so rich of greenery and waters, in 1961 we built the mineral water plant, which, bottling the waters of the “Fontana delle Anime” and of the “Fonte Bauda” springs, bears the name of Calizzano.
